Great Northern Yarn Haul July 8 – July 31

June 28th, 2022

Maple View Farm Alpacas will again participate in the Great Northern Yarn Haul from July 8-Ju;y 31. The GNYH is a self-guided tour across the beautiful northern New England States of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine for knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers and fiber artists. Plan your adventure and be sure to include Maple View Farm Alpacas!  Here’s the info you need to plan your Great Northern Yarn Haul 2022 adventure!

* Each shop/farm on the Yarn Haul will have passports available for you when you visit or you can print your own.

* Passports have contact information for each stop on the Yarn Haul. You’ll need to check open hours/schedule an appointment before you begin your fiber-adventure.

* Have each shop/farm mark your passport. Purchase is not required to receive a mark on your passport.

* Again this year, the Yarn Haul is open to online shopping as well. If you purchase from a shop via their website (either for a shipped order, or curbside pick-up) please indicate that you are participating in the Yarn Haul, and they’ll include something (a sticker, business card, etc.) that will count as the mark on your passport.

*Instructions for submitting your passport are printed on the passport.

Good luck, yarn haulers!

Be sure to check our website for appointment hours and visitor COVID protocols. Visiting the Farm & Store.

If you will be participating virtually, please visit our online farm store at Maple View Alpacas Farm Store.

Production Cycles are Full thru 2022

April 16th, 2021

Thank you all for keeping us steadily busy!

The mill works with production cycles and we take reservations for those.  We are full for the remainder of 2021 as well as into 2022.  That being said, things do change so feel free to check with us about availability for a future slot.

If you want roving, rug yarn or batts (jobs that are just wash, pick, card), we accept a limited number of jobs for our work-in list. We work these jobs in when we are backed up at the spinner. Email vtfibermill@gmail.com if you are interested.  Jobs larger than 20 lb and/or wanting other services, like spinning, dyeing, separating or felting should be scheduled in a cycle.

If you would like a recommendation for a mill that may be able to accept your fiber, please email us at vtfibermill@gmail.com.

USPS Rate Increase

June 22nd, 2019

Maple View Farm Alpacas is participating in the Great Northern Yarn Haul! July 12-August 14. Here’s how it works:

· Customers receive a tote and passport with their first purchase from our shop for $20 or more. That gets you “in.”
· As you travel store to store, store personnel mark off in their store box that you have visited the store.
· Participants send their completed passports in and random drawings for prizes are done the 1st week of August.

Additionally, participants will receive a 10% discount on their yarn purchases at Maple View Farm during the event period. Shop the store, meet the alpacas (and hopefully a cria or 2) and see the fiber mill!

Store hours during the “Haul” Mon-Sat 11-3 or by appointment.  Contact mvfalpacas@gmail.com
